Mountaineer to Swimmer

Badia Bonilla is one of Mexico's greatest mountain climbers.  She took time out of her busy schedule to participate in the "Swim for your Heart..Feb 14" in Mexico.  Congratulations to her and her husband Mauricio for reaching their eighth summit.

Countdown to " Swim for your Heart...Feb 14"

Good luck to all swimmers participating in the "Swim for your Heart..Feb 14" swim.  There has been a tremendous response from the international swim community.  Together we can bring an awareness of heart disease prevention.  A special thank you to Mexican marathon swimmer Antonio Arguelles and Mariel Hawley for organizing 1400 swimmers to participate in Mexico.  And a special thank you to "Big Rick's Outdoor Swim Team" for helping to spread the word and participating in this event in England.  Also, thank you to the many swimmers from other countries and the U.S.    And finally, this "Swim for your Heart..Feb 14" swim was prompted by the tragic death of U.S. swimmer Fran Crippen during a FINA Open Water 19 Km World Cup.  It is a wonderful tribute to him.

Swim for your Heart...Feb 14

All swimmers are invited to join the February 14 swim to raise awareness of heart disease and prevention.  This swim is a global effort to bring attention to the growing health issue of heart disease. It's not to late to plan a swim on February 14.  Get together with your swim friends on that day, talk about heart disease prevention and donate to your local Heart Association.

Momentum is gaining....

More and more swimmers and non-swimmers are joining our cause "Swim for your Heart...Feb 14" to bring an awareness of heart disease.  Please continue to spread the word worldwide.  Every year on February 14 "Swim for your Heart...Feb 14" will be designated as the day that swimmer (and non-swimmers) will unite to bring an awareness of heart disease.
